Hospital-Based Delivery
Some women choose to give birth in a hospital setting. We are glad to be able the offer this option for our clients at University of TN Medical Center.
Women who choose a hospital birth should expect some routine hospital procedures during their labor and delivery.
These include:
• some restriction of food and fluids
• monitoring
• Epidural anesthesia option
• routine IV
If you choose a hospital birth, you will receive prenatal care at the Center and deliver at UT Medical Center with one of our collaborating physicians. After hospital discharge, Lisa Ross will resume your postpartum care, which includes a home visit, 2 week postpartum office visit, and 6 week postpartum visit.
UT Medical Center supports "rooming in", or minimal separation of mother and baby.
