
Another unique service that is offered at the Lisa Ross Birth and Women's Center is the availability of an in-house Social Worker to help meet the additional needs of our clients during pregnancy.
Carmen Pitt, MSSW, works with women and their families to help identify and address socioeconomic risk factors that can impact the health of the mother and baby.
These factors include:
• Housing
• Food / Nutrition
• Transportation
• Parenting Skills
• Counseling
When appropriate, women are referred to our partnering community social service agencies, including:
• Healthy Families (Helen Ross McNabb Center)
• Child and Family, TN
• Homeward Bound (Community Action Committee)
• Birth to Kindergarten
