At the Lisa Ross Birth and Women's Center, we specialize in caring for women with low risk, normal pregnancies. We believe in educating you and your family about the normal changes of pregnancy and signs to watch for so that you can be an active and empowered participant in your own healthcare. We encourage family and friends to be a part of prenatal care, and we enjoy having them attend prenatal visits with you, if desired.

 

Our four certified nurse-midwives provide prenatal care, labor and delivery, and post-partum care. Our three birth options include birth center birth, waterbirth, and hospital birth.

 

At the Lisa Ross Birth and Women’s Center, we believe that breastfeeding is the best option for your baby. We are proud of our 97% breastfeeding initiation rate, the highest rate in Knox County.

Our Certified Nurse-Midwives and Postpartum Nurses, and Lactation Consultants provide our clients with the information and support they need to breastfeed successfully. Whether it is deciding to breastfeed or dealing with problems you may encounter with nursing, our staff have many collective years of experience in helping women breastfeed successfully.

 

Additionally, the staff of the Breastfeeding Center at Lisa Ross provide breastfeeding classes, consultations, and breast pump rentals.

 

Since 1998, we have been proud to be a World Health Organization designated "Baby Friendly" birthing facility, the only such facility in Knox County. We strive to remove any barriers to successful breastfeeding within our facility and the Knoxville community.
